We will be sharing progress updates here so our supporters can follow the journey and see how their generosity is helping students in Burkina Faso.
First Phase (7/18/26)
Lemonade and Bissap Stand: Grand Rapids
This first phase of the project took place in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, where we hosted a lemonade and bissap stand to raise awareness and support for the mission. We partnered with Social Misfits, a popular local restaurant, who kindly agreed to support our project and allow us to set up a stand on their property. We caught plenty of foot traffic and kind donors who enjoyed the lemonade and the cultural exposure of Bissap. The Grand Rapids stand was coordinated by Yannis and was assisted by Eliezer Ouoba and Madison Thames (the first donor). From this stand we fundraised approximately $405.35 dollars, and was a great kickoff to the project.

Initial Goal Reached
After just the first phase of our project, we succeeded in reaching our initial goal of $440! After some very generous donations, our online and cash donations amount up to a whopping $685.35. In light of this, we are updating our goal to $880 dollars to be able to fund fans 8 total fans for 4 classrooms. Thank you everyone for your support!
Second Phase
Lemonade and Bissap Stand: Burkina Faso
The second phase of the project will take place in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. We will host another stand where we will be selling lemonade and bisap again to raise local awareness and support for the mission. We hope to set up our stand at a local school, community, or cultural event in the month of August.
